Hamilton Global presents in a round table the main conclusions of its study, carried out for the Spanish Association of Shopping Centers and Parks (AECC) on how shopping centers are coexisting with the digital era.

The main conclusions were presented at a breakfast, which also featured a round table formed by Ricardo Rivero, partner at Hamilton Global Intelligence, Eduardo Ceballos, country head Spain & Italy at Neinver, Luis Lázaro, managing director of retail & logistics of Merlin Properties, and Luis Pires, general director of Klépierre Iberia.

According to the study carried out by Hamilton Global, 67.8% of those surveyed had made an online purchase in the last twelve months and 100% had gone to a physical store. Very few had bought through a single channel.

Insights on the study conducted by Hamilton Global in partnership with the AECC

The study highlights that there is a greater impact due to the speed at which this technological transformation is occurring, which creates a certain feeling of uncertainty.

Thus, several trends are pointed out, some of them closely linked to e-commerce, such as the satisfaction of immediacy, the personalization of consumption or the possibility of buying cheaper. Other keys are that leisure is becoming a priority and there is greater concern for ecology and sustainability. There is also a trend towards localism and connection with the environment, in addition to a rise in the collaborative economy. Likewise, there is a concentration of retailers, with operators returning to city centers with fewer, but larger, points of sale.
